October 20, 2007

Dear Milton Neighbor,

In the eleven months since our community incorporated as the City of Milton, the city has many accomplishments. Successes to date include, the creation of a solid performing new city with all the services of a more mature city; appointment of numerous land planning and zoning boards comprised of citizens; and the launch of the City’s public safety department brought local fire and police services to Milton residents. The deployment of complete fire and safety services in Milton is unprecedented among new cities. Your city has a top-level team of experienced officers and staff.

It has been my honor to serve you this year alongside Mayor Joe Lockwood and Council Member Julie Zahner Bailey.

The City Charter requires that the Mayor and City Council serve in staggered terms. I will need your vote in 2009 but Julie Zahner Bailey needs your vote November 6, 2007, so that she may continue to serve you for four more years. I am writing to communicate my full support of Julie Zahner Bailey as the Representative living in District Two who must continue serving on your Milton City Council.

Julie Zahner Bailey has lived in Milton for 20 years. After a 15-year successful corporate career, she began working as a dedicated community volunteer over a decade ago. She has worked tirelessly for the last 12 years to preserve the community. Julie Zahner Bailey stands strong alongside me in the continued preservation of Milton. She supports the no-seer policies and champions managed growth and low density for our community.

Julie and I agree on three very important issues.

First, she understands that our city council must work diligently to preserve our natural Environment as she has been at the forefront of doing just that for the last decade.

Second, Julie knows that our comprehensive land use plan is our law. This law will help the city leaders maintain precedent for consistency in zoning levels and maintaining low density growth.

Thirdly, Two T’s – Taxes and Transportation. The council must work to reduce, not increase your city taxes while working with the department of transportation to gain control of the traffic generated by the increased density surrounding our city.

Julie has worked tirelessly in the past for our city and I know she will continue with the same work ethic the next four years. Please vote for Julie Zahner Bailey on November 6, 2007 for the Milton City Council District Two at-large. She continues to be an advocate for our community, and the preservation of our culture and environment.

Sincerely,

Tina D’Aversa
Milton City Council District Five
